William Shakespeare said that “people usually are the happiest at home” and we’d agree. Whether you own, rent, or have a traveling shelter on wheels, there’s no place in the world quite like your home. Whatever home style you live in, if it’s important to you, we can help you protect it.
If you own a home, it’s likely to be the single greatest investment you make in your lifetime. While there’s no law mandating home insurance to protect that investment, most of us see the wisdom in limiting our financial risk through insurance. And if we have a mortgage, the bank generally requires insurance coverage. A typical policy covers your dwelling, its contents, and other structures on your property, such as a garage. It offers liability coverage in case someone is injured on your property. But some things that you might think are covered require an additional policy, such as flood damage or high-value items and collections, like jewelry or antiques.
Condo Insurance and Rental Insurance are both a little different, but they share a common myth. Many people think that a Condo Association’s Master Policy or a landlord’s insurance will cover you, but these policies only cover the buildings. For your condo, you would need to cover inside fixtures and your condo’s contents; for a rental, you’d need to cover your possessions.
You may have other home arrangements, such as a vacation cottage by the lake, a mobile home, or an RV you’re taking on the road for your retirement. We’d be happy to talk to you about the right protection for your needs.
